We are an alliance of groups working in many different ways for transformational change in how we live with one another and Te Taiao, in how we work and how we make collective decisions.
Supporting groups include -
Pathway to Survival, Organise Aotearoa, Action Station, Extinction Rebellion, Te Waka Hourua, Aotearoa Liberation League, Te Kuaka | NZ Alternative, Industrial Workers of the World Aotearoa, Our Climate Declaration, Ecu-Action, Climate Liberation Aotearoa (formerly Restore Passenger Rail), Senior Climate Action Network (SCAN) - and more.
Our 2023 Petition brought together the demands of, among others, Matike Mai, Greenpeace and Climate Shift coalition, NZ Council of Trade Unions, Dental For All, Free Fares Coalition, Ecu-Action and Wellbeing Economy Alliance.
Kia Tapatahi! Come together!
The crises we face – inequality, colonial injustice, climate and ecosystem breakdown, war – are interlocking. So are the solutions.
Tapatahi is about building a broad strong popular movement for the transformational changes we need.
Like an ecosystem, we are stronger together, and stronger in our diversity.
Tapatahi is about helping build this movement by offering spaces for dialogue, debate and connection among the various groups and people working for radical change.
Bringing together Tiriti activists with climate and eco-warriors, unionists with degrowthers, and more. To build whanaungatanga | connection and trust through respectful korero on our different perspectives on the struggle.
Such dialogue is well and truly happening since the recent national elections! So many people are making the connections between Tiriti, poverty, Te Taiao | Nature, climate and peace struggles, and realising we are all up against the same capitalist colonising systems.
He Kōrero Tapatahi - Blogspot and Newsletter
We’re excited by the vision of a regular newsletter-cum-blog for the progressive movement!
Not to duplicate the many specific campaigns and detailed blogs out there. But to publicise them, making sure everyone knows who’s doing and thinking what, and why.
And offer a venue for guest blogs from coalition partners on how we can build a strong progressive movement in Aotearoa.
